Here's the point I should have made. Back then, and going back to the 50's, a lot of bands were making a lot of good music. You could buy a record that was completely listenable. That seemed to change in the 90's when bands making one good song.

Maybe I do NOT fully exist in 2015. Yet I am not at all embarrassed by the notion, in the least bit. And I state that with a sense of pride and conviction.
This is how I live and somewhat survive, Kris. I make no apologies. I get through work, feed my family, pay my bills. If I wanna listen to stuffy old music that lights me up, I will.
And I refuse to take any shit for my choices (not that you should, either).
