Stevie Ray Vaughan: Direct Tv Freeview

:D Just watched the STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN & DOUBLE TROUBLE performance at the 1985 Montreux Jazz Festival on DIRECT TV FREEVIEW CHANNEL. It's channel #103 in MICHIGAN.
I can only assume that this will be available to the public soon as a DVD.
ALL I can say is ....FUCKING AWESOME!!!!!
Stellar performance by a LEGEND. HIGHLY RECOMENDED VIEWING for all aspiring guitar players on this site, as well as those who dig BLUES and AWESOME guitar playing. STEVIE RULES!!!! Aug 26th was 14 years ago that he passed away. What a talented CAT!!!

        Right on Bro!
Back in 1990 in started at EASTERN MICHIGAN UNIVERSITY. My room-mate and I bonded like bloodbrothers over our GRIEF from SRV passing away only DAYS earlier! I agree with the late GREAT John Lee Hooker that "Stevie Ray Vaughan is" the BEST BLUES GUITARIST THAT EVER LIVED." Truly a legendary songwriter, singer, performer, and GUITAR VIRTUOSO!!!
ONE of my BIGGEST REGETS in life is NEVER having seen him play LIVE!!! FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK!!!!!!
Always thought, "Well, I'll check him out NEXT time around."
Which is one of my MAIN reasons for being so pissed at the SISTERS for NOT getting back together with DAVE. LIFE IS SHORT, AND OUR TIME HERE IS LIMITED!!!!

        THE MIGHTY VAN HALEN RULES!!!!!

I've been watching this on and off also....

What a loss of talent, much like Randy Rhoads....

I remember exactly where I was when I heard the news that he had passed. I grew a soul patch that week which has never been shaved off since, (not even for my wedding). He is, was, and will always be, a giant.
                    He throws a punch.
                    He swings. I duck.
                    His fat ass falls...

I've been a fan of SRV for many years, have all of his stuff. I remember that day too, what a blow. I never got to see him live. I always thought I would, but then he was gone.

that Direct TV show was cool, hearing DT talk about him was great, I got choked up when Tommy was talking about what a great man he was. I wish they had showed more folks talking about him besides Mayer and Browne. He influenced so many...

...and how cool was that white hat?

Nobody has played the guitar with such feel & emotion. Ever.

Anybody ever see this where he & Jimmie play Pipeline on the doubleneck? Brilliant.

His playing was so intense. As was his voice. I love the way he sang. No, it wasn't perfect. But it WAS perfect for what he was singing... the blues...
