Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger will attend the 2005 Dapper Dan Dinner and Sports Auction April 17 at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center.
Roethlisberger, who helped lead the Steelers to a 15-1 regular season and a trip to the AFC championship, will receive the Sportsman of the Year Award.
"The Dapper Dan Sportsman of the Year award is quite an honor, and I'm looking forward to accepting it in front of a great Pittsburgh audience," Roethlisberger said.
"Being from Ohio, I wasn't too familiar with the dinner or the award before this year, but I know now that it's a special honor."
Rochester's Lauryn Williams, who finished second in the 100-meter dash at the 2004 Summer Olympics, will be honored as the Sportswoman of the Year. Golfing legend Arnold Palmer will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Tickets for the Dapper Dan Dinner and Sports Auction are $150 each for premium seating and $100 each for general seating and youths 18 and under.
Tickets are available by calling the Dapper Dan Hotline at (412) 263-3850.
