i'm sorry hun i have to disagree with you on nirvana....but i'm not so much into the glam rock as i am the heavier stuff...like priest, maiden,CVH(of course) sabbath,kiss....but i also like Ratt and Def Leppard because they were the only ones that could do good ballads

i like punk more than metal mostly if not for van halen and pantera i wouldnt have any metal in my cd case

I'm a huge KISS fan (I mean huge, I met the members, seen them live a bunch of times). SABBATH is one of my favorite bands ever...they are incredible. They have that sort of relentless riff-rock I love that the hair bands totally lacked. RATT I hate. DEF LEPPARD, not bad, but I don't take it seriously. It's like sugary music, but it's well-written and fun to listen to sometimes and at least they have talent. PRIEST is awesome. Saw them live last summer.

yeah i dont really consider vh metal back then they were not anymore...for todays standards preist isnt metal....nowadays all it is is screaming into a microphone with random music in the back ground

Me too. I have 1500 CDs, so there's definitely not just two metal bands. I love METALLICA, PRIEST, VENOM, NAPALM DEATH, SUICIDAL TENDENCIES, SABBATH...tons of others. But my favorite genre will probably always be punk/garage/underground shit. I love the VELVET UNDERGROUND. Love the DEAD BOYS. Love JOHNNY THUNDERS. Another favorite of mine I don't really consider metal...ALICE COOPER. I love that whole early 70s crunchy guitar, experimental, attitude shit...killed the hippies, which was a good thing. I also love T-REX...highly talented and influential band.

VH were not metal. People at this site don't realize that not everybody likes the whole 80s rock scene. I like bits and pieces of it. But I hate a ton of it too. To me, VAN HALEN are one of the exceptions. They are absolutely brilliant, not metal at all...they can't be categorized. But if you saw my CD booklet in the car one day, odds are there would be a lot more punk bands or early-90s bands or new bands in it.

Anyone dig QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE? Those guys are really good.
