I didn't like it that much when I first bought it many years ago. But after a while, I grew to love it. But it's still nowhere near as good as the follow-up...THE SLIDER. Besides a couple of duff songs, it's fucking incredible. Check out BUICK MCKANE (actually, that's on that GUNS 'N' ROSES cover album) and ROCK ON...both amazing T-REX songs.

(My buddy DG also likes the T-REX...)

Priest IS Metal. So are all the bands I named up there. Metal was NEVER about "screaming into a microphone with random music in the back ground". Not today, not EVER. Metal is about proper singing and grate music. It's almost Classical.

It's not uneventful...it's got a groove. And actually, there are a few songs that do rock...RIPOFF is one. But it's more of a groove album. The opening track, MAMBO SUN, is one of the best album-openers I know.

But THE SLIDER is also a better album, even if I don't like the opening song at all. It's got more rockers and the slower ones for the most part work better.
