Lourdes, South of France (Haute-Garronne, I think), is a traditional pilgrimage destination, famous for its "miracle" cave... French people and, mostly, Europeans will go there, hoping for some miracle... but one supposedly happens every 20 years or so. Beyond the old holy Joe background, it is a source of relief for many ill or handicapped people, and it is also a fine place to go on a vacation (located in the Pyrénées area, sights are beautiful and the weather nice almost every day).
