The BIG problem with the Jesus story

Hmmm...
Have I ever even posted in this thread? I know i've intended to but posted conspiracy threads instead...
But this thread is about the ultimate conspiracy, correct ??
It's truly a miracle to have or to see God change a completely corrupt and broken man's life...
It's also sad to see highly intelligent and great people blow off the word of God with their analytical bullshit...
Why do you need absolute tangible truth that you can see and touch? I mean, do you have abosolute tangible truth of how the earth and our solar system began? Or do you have faith that scientists are explaining it correctly ??
Picking apart the Old Testament is one thing, especially if you can't understand it's meaning and hang on every word, which I don't think you can do, at least not in english...
But everything Jesus says in the New Testament is life. It's living water...
God is LOVE!

most of the people are so busy to tell you that there is no God and no Jesus and no Holy Ghost that they miss every chance to see them...
there are miracles in life...every day...and that doesn't mean that one walks on water in front of your naked steaming eyes...and to say it army-style...pull your head out of your ass, shut the fuck up, plug in and pray...
As you say a lot of people, hell the vast majority I think just get on with their day to day shit and few take a step back to think on the wonder of it all.
But that doesn't make me want to pretend to talk to some invisible cloud person based on the arbitrary random superstitions passed down from parents depending on where I was born.
Why would this supreme being want my thanks, is it insecure?
Does it want thanks when a child dies? Why would it want blind faith?Comment

The big problem with the Sin Story is the athiests who wanna deny those who want to deny them all the fun they want, along with all the other rules and boundaries of normal society.
To be a true atheist, you just wanna do whatever you want like a fuckin' 5 year old. That's all it's about, denial of responsibility and family and society.Comment

I agree that life is an amazing privilege. Especially for us who have been born now in this time of huge luxury in the right place at the right time.

I am not going to ask you to try. I have no insight nor do I have an ability to over ride to the purpose of your being.
Just accept your place. And accept mine.
As long as we do not defile the laws of man, which are easy, being accountable is just something you did. Everything else, within a stable generational background falls into place. Most people have little to over come. Those that do, well, choice is to defect or accept themselves. To put it simply, we need to worry a lot less about how to communicate our actions and much more about what our actions communicate.Comment

I don't think God wants our thanks the way it is taught in Christianity, not one bit. I used to come from almost mainstream Christian beliefs but that's been in a process of change for some time. I'm no student of Greek or Aramaic but I'll wager that Christ didn't mean that belief in other religions lead to damnation, I'm not sure there is such a thing. But as he another aspect of God or being God's son probably is the way to life. The more spiritual religions, which Christianity too was to some extent in the past have always said something along the lines of us being one consciousness, manifesting itself in our present forms and sent to various worlds for a learning process. All learning on earth or certainly other planets is part of the journey back to the source. All the older traditions, Celtic, native Indian, Indian speak of everything having a consciousness, including the plants, rock and the earth. That's where Arthur Clarke got his idea for 2001, ultimately Hal is reborn as a planet or star in the next stage of his evolution. Perhaps learned people know exactly why this has to happen, but even Christianity says the same thing, we are hear to learn and the more attention you pay to your own experiences you'll notice how you come across exactly that which you need to develop spiritually.
Evil is a neccessary component in a person's journey. If you don't make mistakes or see that of others to learn from you don't progress. Ultimately the events of this world, the holocaust and so on doesn't matter, this is purely a waystation on your path, it is transitory. And everyone carries the seed of this kind of evil within, Hitler is not an incredibly unique person.
As an aside it makes sense that if life is about development that you return to the world repeatedly if you don't get it the first or subsequent times. Time is also a human concept, so it probably explains prophecy and why you have seemingly advanced individuals like Tesla; reincarnation isn't linear.Comment

You should be SAD for our souls. Compassionate. You should at least try to steer us into the light.
As it is, gloating that you'll go to Heaven and we won't, will surely make you lose your place up there.
Ah, no big deal, mate. Seeing as we, and probably all your friends are going to Hell, you might as well go there too. Help pass eternity faster, with familiar faces and all.
In Heaven you'd be alone.
Cheers! :bottle:Comment

Hmmm... you know, being glad that others won't go to Heaven makes you a bad person, Mr. Walker.

There were many other jedi who died and were born again. Jesus was not unique.
What I was getting at with that remark (about Obi Wan kenobi) is that even if Jesus survived the Crucifixion, he still died almost 2,000 years ago.
Meaning, perhaps he WAS real.
But as he is now just a name from History, he is actually as real as Obi Wan Kenobi, who was not real to begin with.
