As lame as it sounds, I think Crazy From The Heat was the perfect match of singer and songs - and it ran counter to what people expected from the leader of Van Halen.

I'd want to see them in a club somewhere. No matter how great the mamoth undertakings of the later years were, I think it would be magic to see VH in a room of about 200 or so.

No. I think it's sad the way he's fallen apart and it sucks that one of the greatest guitarists of all time has done nothing in almost a decade.

8. Do you hate Alex Van Halen?
I don't care about Al. Unlike many here, I believe he's some evil svengali poisoning Ed's mind. Ed has more than enough ego to act like an ass without help from anyone else.

9. Do you hate Michael Anthony?
Again, no feeling. He has a job to do and he does it. You don't make waves when you're the bass player in Van Halen.

10. How do you define a sheep?
A sheep is someone who follows blindly. Not necessarily just buys all the records - hell there's plenty of bands I buy on the release day no questions asked!, instead, a sheep is never critical of the work or its qaulity. They always nod agreement when the artists says "it's our best work ever" even when it clearly isn't.

11. Name three other bands you love as much as or almost as much as Van Halen/DLR.
U2, The Cure, Elvis, Nick Cave, Better Than Ezra, Springsteen, Chris Isaak... don't get me started

I've heard most of their stuff. It's ok, but it's not Van Halen. Sooner or later you've gotta pick a side and I go with Dave. I would put it this way: I like some of the sammy stuff : I LOVE ALL of the Dave stuff

There's a quick guitar fill in "Can't Stop Loving You" that reminds me of what Ed used to be.

First off I must say I don't think I have ever posted in the pen before. Nice place.

1.Diver Down. First VH I ever heard. I can't describe how it blew my fucking 8 year old mind. Couldn't figure out how "Big Bad Bill" and "Full Bug" could be on the same album...

2.YFLM...I'm a lyrics guy, and it don't get any better than that.

3."Sinner's Swing", "Hang 'em High" and "Loss of Control". There might be BETTER VH songs, but the heat comin off these tunes is simply undeniable. Nobody did rock better.

4.2 fools, Nightlife, Goin Crazy, ALAE, too many...

5.I have seen Dave 3 times.

6.'84...the swan song.

7.Don't hate Ed, pity for sure.

I met "Franksters"'s best friend; "Dr. Rythm" (almost 15 years ago), felt in love and married him.

"Franksters" and I are just good buddies... they're isn't a week that goes by when we don't talk on the phone
or see each other (we live 5 minutes away).

I also love his whife, and the 4 of us really get along...

"Dr.Rythm" is a huge fan of Dave but doesn't post very often in the forums so "Franksters" and I have this
