really, you think so? when people need money, food or clothing, the last thing i think about is a scam. Ive known GR for quite awhile now and can tell you, this is not a scam. people should donate anyway they feel comfortable. This was mine.

but yeah, I can understand the skepticism- just donate or not. Dont make a big dealio out of it. Not every thread has to be a "fight".

Fine and I truly hope Guwapo's intentions were indeed genuine. Personally, I found it extremely offensive that he comes on here wanting to treat this catastrophe like the Jerry Lewis' Labor Day Weekend Telethon. Especially to those of us who had already donated prior, without any prodding and weren't seeking any personal recognition as a "group" just for doing the right thing. Who in the heck does he think he is by "thanking" Nick for donating when it had absolutely NOTHING to do with him? He comes on here and acts like he's the fucking governor's wife and I know several people who agree that is extremely poor taste. Charitable donations shouldn't be made for personal recognition in the first place. I'm sorry but it personally bugs the crap out of me.

I highly doubt ANY of us would have one ounce of skepticism if such a thread were started by any of the webbies, etc. It's just considering Guwapo's deceitful history on this board, then not stating what his intentions were in the first place (until Nick called him on it) indeed raised suspicions for many of us.

Well, when I think of disaster relief, the last thing I think of is donating to someone else, so they can tally it up and donate it to charity for me. The RED CROSS and numerous other charities have the purest of motives and direct donation links through their websites...I don't know GUWAPO from Adam.

So we'll agree to disagree, and he's the one that started this thread off on a really questionable note, not me....

You know Guwapo, I'm really going to give you the benefit of the doubt here and just "believe" that you're doing this with the best intentions. However, I just watched a report on the news about how certain vultures are profiting from this tragedy by scamming people.

Now and just for the sake of say... A brand new poster, who happens to read this thread and really wants to donate on behalf of The Army. What documentation will you provide to said donors as to where their money actually went? It is tax deductible after all. Do you itemize every single donation by name and the amount donated? I mean and what if (God Forbid) somewhere down the road, someone were to be unfortunately audited by the I.R.S. would you be able to provide adequate documentation to show that the contribution was accounted directly to The Red Cross from your "So and So Enterprises?"

Also, say if someone like myself (although I will not) were to donate to you, isn't your PayPal account like mine (or all of those set up for eBay transactions) where you would get most of my personal information?

I would just like you to clarify this so if people choose to donate to your effort know exactly what they are doing. I think everything that I've mentioned is both beyond reasonable and fair, don't you?

Honestly, I think Gwuapo was just trying to help in his own way. He's not a scam artist at all. Max, you are right cause it does bring up the question of a newbie coming on here and NOT knowing Gwuapo thinking he is some scum bag trying to get a new fix or something. I just feel Gwuapo is as honest as they come.

GUWAPO has lied several times at this website. It is well-documented. One just needs look at his posting history. He has attacked the site under aliases and denied it, though the proof was right there. His only answer would always be: "Wasn't me." Then proof would be posted and he would leave for a while.

Personally, I don't think GUWAPO was trying a scam. That said, it is very funny that he didn't reveal at first that the money was going personally to him so that he could donate it himself later. That is rather unfortunate. Looks very bad, considering how bad his reputation is already.

Personally, I hope nobody donates to him only because it's a really stupid and unnecessary way to donate to this cause when one just needs to make their own tax-deductable and obviously guaranteed donation through the Red Cross or whichever charity someone chooses. There are times and places for platforms and this tragedy is not one of them.

One of the radio stations here is going to be doing a cool thing this weekend. You request a song to be played on the radio and then you pay for the request and all money goes to HELP NOW.

                              I'll be requesting some Roth.

                                Thanks for the $200 Lou.

I'm going to spend most of it on cheap whores and booze and waste the rest.
