we get quite a lot of French movies over here, I like them. I see a bit of everything from American movies to really off beat European movies that nobody as ever heard off. I don't mind subtitles.

Well, the one oft quoted by famous directors (Coppola, Spielberg, Lucas, Kubrick, Huston, Cameron, etc.) as the greatest film ever made is The Seven Samurai by Akira Kurosawa.
A recent film that blew my mind is Spiderman II.
Sure, it is based on a comic-book hero, but there was dialogue in it reminiscent of some of the great films like Casablanca.
What I really think was a fucking masterpiece (as did many other peeps) was The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy.
However, it was not an original screenplay. It was an adaptation of an existing work.
I also think a film with the most universal appeal amongst the Human Race has to be The Wizard Of Oz.
It is one of those films where it is difficult to even consider there was a "Behind The Scenes".
As for Clint Eastwood westerns....I love High Plains Drifter...
