Basically, Willis took control of the movie from the director and decided to ad-lib his lines. Willis also bore responsibility for most of the plot decisions as well.

I love bad movies, but not movies that just have contempt for the audience, and Hudson Hawk is in that category for me...as opposed to, say, Bonfire Of The Vanities, which is bad yet watchable to me.

12 Monkeys

Sin City

Die Hard (still enjoy this flick. mindless but fun entertainment)

Pulp Fiction

And none of those movies would have been diminished in greatness if Willis weren't in them (with maybe the exception of 12 Monkeys).
