Basically we were a bunch of old fucks hoping our favorite rock and roll lineup would do it one more time.

The late 90's for me were shitty times. It would have been nice to have something to celebrate.

Actually, he was posting from a federal government IP in Washington DC. Department of Justice, if I remember correctly. Our tax dollars at work, spreading lies about Van HALEN's alleged recording sessions.

Once Slawterhouse hit the skids, I dumbed the VH1 handle because frankley, I never cared for it.

You might remember Lame Ass Rum. I invented the shit.
Now the "Carol's Lame Ass Rum" I definitely remember. Including a lot of running jokes about drinking it vs Hagar's tequila. I think someone even made a logo for the stuff.

Carol caught so much shit and we stood up for her. One idiot posted Carol's Lame Ass Rum instead of Carol's Lame Ass Rumours and I ran with it.

The whole Slawterhouse Security thing started when somebody broke into the radio station and Carol was there alone at night and had to call the cops. We were her security guards and we then called ourselves Slawterhouse Security. Peroxide came up with the T-Shirt design and Sundog had the shirt printed and sold them at cost to anyone who wanted one.

A lot of us were just burning time and the fights and the slagging was the fun.

What was funny is the day I logged into Slawterhouse for the first time I was pissed about something and was swigging Mount Gay Rum from the bottle. I needed a little Dave to cheer me up.

Damn, it's all coming back to me now. I had seriously forgotten about that shit. I was there for all of that. Or Satan was and he told me about it. One of the two

I was in the Slawterhouse Lounge the night when that all happened, and came up with the name "Slawterhouse Security" on accident in one of my posts, and everybody ran with it. I posted there as Big Trouble '77, or B.T. '77 for short back then. So you were VH1, Nitro Express? I remember you!

The Slawterhouse Lounge was the first Classic VH/DLR related message board that I came across when I first got on the internet, and Ford used to advertise Ford Country on there, which is really where it all started for me. I think I found the Army while posting at Ford's, when it first started and there was a Bulletin Board type of message board there back then, before the forums even existed.

I used to pop into the Lounge and the Dollhouse (I think thats what the ladies' forum was called??) from time to time to chat. I got to know LA and liked her a lot. We used to hang at the links too and then she went away.

Anyone know if she's around under another name?? She was cool.

There were some colorful characters. One dude was so witty some of us thought it was Dave himself making posts. LOL!

She occasionaly hangs out at Sundog's current website oakdome.com. She has had a baby since the Slawterhouse days and is working with special ed kids at a grade school nowadays. She sounds busy but she posts every now and then and she is nice and classy as ever.

The DLR Band CD wasn't bad. I like some of the songs on it like Little Texas and King of the Hill.
