It wasn't just the weekends either. When I was younger and working in places like Subway or convenience stores, I had access to free carbonation, so I would drink it all day long, for the energy. Coke, if it was available. Mountain Dew if it was not, because I just can't stand Pepsi.
Unfortunately, I wasn't aware of what high fructose corn syrup did to the human body back then. Believe me, if I had to do it all over again, I probably would have switched to coffee, or maybe even created the green tea trend myself.
