I thought this thread was "Sequels you wish they`d never made".

I heard Scorsese/De Niro were working on a "Taxi Driver" sequel.

                    I`m 50/50 on that one.

The original is one of my favourites and I would like it left alone.

On the other hand, you`d think those two would only do it if they had strong stuff to work wtih.

Even after watching the 4 hour Director's Cut, I was ready for more.

Good movie. I like the buffalo hunting scene and where the crazy ass guy pisses his pants and then shoots himself.

Can't beleive they made a sequel to Crank.
That fucker was obviously dead .
                        How about Platoon 2 .
Barnes wasn't dead and hid out until he could escape.
Now he's stalking Charlie Sheens character after he went home.
But he's saved by Elias who wasn't dead either.

I realize that most of the suggestions in this thread were made with tongue firmly in cheek....but, it looks like there is a REAL sequel coming in the "Ghostbusters" franchise.

20 years after we left the boys in the tan jumpsuits, it looks like they've decided to fire up the Ecto-1 and the proton packs one more time....

In September 2008, Columbia Pictures announced that, almost two decades after the last film came out, a new “Ghostbusters” movie is finally in the works. Recently, MTV spoke to Harold Ramis (otherwise known as Dr. Egon Spengler) about the upcoming film and got some exciting news. Most notably, Ramis dished that although the original actors (Ramis, Dan Aykroyd and Bill Murray) will appear in the updated version of the film, their roles will be slightly different.

“We're going to be the sage mentors. There are going to be young Ghostbusters." Ramis said.

With the still unconfirmed news that Judd Apatow (“Knocked Up,” “The 40 year Old Virgin”) has signed on as producer, there’s been a great deal of speculation over the past few months as to whether the "Apatow Pack" (Paul Rudd, Seth Rogan, and Steve Carell) will be cast as the famous ghost hunters and questions about who will fill the director’s chair.

According to MTV, neither Ramis nor original director Ivan Reitman are especially keen to take on the directorial role.

"I'm sure we're all hoping someone else will do it," Ramis told MTV. "It's a lot of work!"

The new screenplay will be penned by writer/producers Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky, who are behind “The Office” and the new Ramis -- directed comedy “The Year One” starring Jack Black and Michael Cera.

As for the one "Ghostbuster" who seems to be conspicuously absent from the line-up, Ramis tells MTV not to worry, that Bill Murray is definitely “in.”

"I haven't talked to him about it," Ramis said. "I want to talk to him about it eventually. I think we just need a script, because he's the thorniest of the group."

Ugh...."sage mentors?" This has "epic flop" written all over it if it's not handled exactly right.

Can anybody say "Indiana Jones and the Temple of the Crystal Skull?"

Just cross the streams and blow this up before everybody gets embarrassed....

The Thing was my first choice too. Great flick!

Sure it's been many years, but two men survived the ordeal and thew two actors who played them are still alive today.

Could they have survived somehow? The end left me wanting more...

                              Childs..."How will we make it?"

                              Snake Plissken..."Maybe we shouldn't."

                              Childs..."If you're worried about me..."

Snake Plissken..."If we got any surprises for each other I don't think we're in much shape to do anything about it."

                              Childs..."Well, what do we do?"

Snake Plissken..."Why don't we just wait here for a little while. See what happens."

                              Well, WTF HAPPENED?!
