ROTFLMAO!! Great pictures VanHalener!! I should take pictures of how 'brown' it is up this way. NO snow banks, which is extremely odd for us this time of year. We get a flurry or something...maybe 2-4 inches....then it goes....and that's that.
I try like hell to keep things all fluffy bunnies and pink daisies. But brutal truth smacks me in the ass all the time. ~Susie Q 2009
We have had barely ANY snow here in upstate NY. We got 2 inches the last storm...nothing to really talk about. In fact, there are plenty of places around our city and the outskirts that have no snow on the hills or mountains. Been a very strange winter here. Like Jimi says...watch....a freak storm in April.
Hey Jimi, remember the blizzard of '93? I was in the hospital about to give birth to my son. Valentine's Day snow storm of '06 was also brutal. Had so much snow we were actually stranded, the snow was up to my hips. Had to wait for the apartment complex manager to send out the plows. School was closed for 3 days after that storm. Kids were thrilled!
Shit, there's been so damn many snowstorms over the years, they tend to blend together...
Well, it's Feb. 17 and I havn't picked up the shovel once.
We've gotten minimal snow thus far. Most of it melts away (to a small degree) the next day...
Man, you guys south of Lake Ontario got a good shit kickin this year. Great photos ,btw, Makes me glad we've gotten a bit of a break this year. But I'm not holding my breath ...
I know we're gonna get dumped on this year, it's simply a matter of when...
Hang in there.... spring is just around the corner!
"The sentinels do not wear rank insignia on their uniforms so that they do not outrank the Unknowns, whatever their rank may have been. Soldiers serving in other roles, like Relief Commander and Assistant Relief Commander, do wear insignia of their rank when changing the guard only. They have a separate uniform worn when they actually guard the Unknowns or are "Posted"
"In 2003, Arlington National Cemetery workers went to bury a newly deceased service member in grave 449 in section 68 of the cemetery, only to discover remains already buried there.[24] Unable to locate the paperwork identifying the soldier and unwilling to disinter the body to identify it, the grave sat without a marker for six years.[24] Arlington installed a headstone marked "Unknown" above the grave in 2009.[24]"
A common complaint around these parts is the lack of sidewalks and there certainly is no shortage of pedestrians on the road in my neighborhood.
The cat in the video below was walking down the road with his headphones on just minding his own business and dancing in the street. I only caught the tail end of the show but I have to give homeboy his moment in the spotlight.
