Perhaps if you bothered to tell people just why you had such "high expectations" [!?!?] for a fucking Hollywood B-movie you might get someone to your little conversation....
Or should they just discuss the simple fact you got off your ass and made the bus trip downtown to see the damn matinee?

Didn't you see where I said it "exceeded my expectations?"
That's your review?
You should write for the Yakima Shoppers Guide.
For all we know, your "high expectations" were that you'd find leftover jujubes under your seat, and that fat chick you like from the AM/PM would sit next to you.
But hey, I can see by the stampede to your thread I'm wrong.
You go girl. :D

I'm glad somebody is talking about this film, as I've wanted to see it for a while now. I saw the original as a kid, and it scared the crap out of me. Most people never caught on that it was a low budget retelling of The Andromeda Strain, but told from the perspective that the government might not have the public's best interests at heart. It really was a cool film and ahead of it's time, and I hope the remake does it justice.
I had a car accident recently, and I'm pretty sure the crazy bitch was one of the crazies as she tried to pass me on the left as I was MAKING A MOTHERFUCKING LEFT TURN!! It almost seemed intentional. Almost like she was looking to get out of her 2000-something Ford Fuckus...
As for the film, it might be good. Who knows? But not exactly the most original.
I saw 28 Days Later recently, that thought that to be the best horror I've seen in a decade or so...
You see, that's the thing. 28 Days Later owes a direct tip of the hat to the films made by George Romero, particularly the Night Of The Living Dead series. The Crazies was first made by Romero back in the early seventies, so in a way, things have come full circle, as rather than making films influenced by the guy, this is the latest in a series of re-appreciations (read: remakes) of the man's work.
