Recent Scandal: Here's a foolproof recipe for corruption: a former policeman commingling with gang members. Milburn Williams, a retired police captain from Newport, ringleaders Raymond Hawk and Grant Williams, and 20 others were indicted on racketeering, drug trafficking and a slew of other charges last year in Greenville. The sting operation was headed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and centered around a chop shop called "H-1 Auto", later renamed "A Automotive." For six years the chop shop was the command post for an operation that allegedly moved stolen property and goods across state lines and sold cocaine and marijuana. The most serious of the charges carry up to $2 million in fines and 40 years in prison.

Ever since I have moved here I have noticed the insane amount of corruption here. Legislators, law enforcement officials, civic leaders, etc. are ALWAYS getting caught taking bribes, payoffs, dealing drugs, laundering money, and more. Lotsa sheriff deputies and cops who work in jails and prisons get busted for having sex with inmates. Lotsa teachers get busted for having sex with underage students. That police chief mentioned above is just one out of about half a dozen in the past decade who have been forced to resign, or gone to jail for dealing drugs, accepting or demanding bribes, or otherwise violating state law.

Fucking ridiculous.

Detroit has been rebuilding for the last few seasons, with the devastating loss of Kwame K as mayor, we're still weak in that position but we'll be back in championship form soon.......my year end prediction is we'll take The Cup for violent crime but lose in a game 7 for overall corruption this year.......it'll be a close season, any way you slice it
