As far as the show without Sheen...no fucking way...and these rumors of fucking John Stamos...
seriously?
Would anyone want to fucking watch that?
"Van Halen was one of the most hallelujah, tailgate, backyard, BBQ, arrive four hours early to the gig just for the parking lot bands. And still to this day is. It's an attitude. I think it's a spirit more than anything else is."
Nope..and Sheen knows it..DVD sales are gonna go through the roof...which, I assume, Charlie gets a piece of..WINNING
The residuals are pretty short lived in television but I'm sure he gets his cut and the interest in it is now. The long-term money is in movies that get shown on television a lot. If you made one of those, you get the residuals for years. Every time your movie is on television you get a slice of that money.
How about syndication? Hell, Im watching 2 and a half on Fox right now...
He will get a lot of money from the re-runs. it will be on 8 different channels a couple times a night for the next 10 years. Cheers was strong for about 10 years after it stopped. Seinfeld is just now starting to slow down. King Of Queens & Raymond are still strong.
Plus the dvd's of each season will still sell. Especially for new fans that are just getting in to it now.
The show should not go on without Charlie. But it will. And it will be a disaster. I hope they hire Ted McGinley. At least have a sense of humor about the whole thing ya know?
“Great losses often bring only a numb shock. To truly plunge a victim into misery, you must overwhelm him with many small sufferings.”

If anything, the CBS execs should have swallowed their pride, cajoled Sheen into returning and subsequently watched the ratings go through the fucking roof.
Without Sheen, that show is dead in the water, unless there's some huge Jon Cryer contingent out there as yet unheard from that will sustain the ratings.

Star Treck was bigger in syndication than it every was as a prime time television show. There is no such thing as bad publicity in Hollywood. If charlie cleans up, he will have offers from all sorts of shows and movies. He's the biggest name in Hollywood right now.
You could make a point about how CBS had dealt with troublesome stars in the past by temporarily replacing them with look-alikes, then settling things behind the scenes so the stars could return to the series, the obvious example being that season on the Dukes Of Hazzard when Bo & Luke's "cousins" filled in for them after a contract dispute.
Never mind. Reading that back, the whole argument sounds utterly stupid.
Either way, there is the rancid smell of the "Second Darren on Bewitched" nature to this. It didn't work when Hagar replaced Roth, so it certainly won't work if John Stamos substitutes for Sheen. And Stamos should know this, having already replaced Dennis Wilson in the Beach Boys, which ended up with him awkwardly crooning Wilson's signature tune "Forever".
