    There was a Rolling Stone (or some other rag) feature on VH when Roth was still in the band, that noted Edward Van Halen would "open" his corked bottle of Blue Nun by shoving the cork straight down into the bottle. I tried this method one afternoon at a picnic, and it was the stupidest idea ever devised for getting to the wine. For one thing, the cork crumbled, leaving all sorts of annoying bits mixed in with the wine every time you took a drink. On top of that, the largest remaining part of the cork kept working it's way up the bottle neck, stopping the flow from the inside.

      Yeah and you end up with a bunch of wine all over your hands.

      Maybe Ed's toe less shoes weren't up to the job.

        Now your probably don't have a set of port tongs laying around so here's the MacGyver way of doing it.
