Turns out there's a Thai Buddhist temple (http://www.watpunyawanaram.org/) a little north of my parents place and they cook on Sundays.. Super good and authentic. I approve.

A couple of days ago I was at a dinner at a friends house and she is South American, but born in Sweden. Anyway her dad is from Uruguay and she made a fantastic dessert from Uruguay called Chaja. I just made it myself today.

It tastes SO good. Kind of remindes me of tiramisu but without the heavy taste of coffe. Instead it's peaches, which makes it very fresh.

I just made meatballs and sauce from scratch - well not fresh tomatoes, not that time of year. And banana bread from a box. Going to be a good dinner tonight.

My favourite pizza place just added some new items to the menu. Tried the teriyaka chicken pizza tonight. ..it was so good, have to add pineapple next time though.

Here is Chaja. My friends turned out better but this is my first time making it, she has done it a million times. The red stuff is raspberries that I added. It's not part of the original recipe

Chajá is a very popular pastry, it was created by the owner of a bakery from Paysandú, Uruguay.
It´s name was given because it bears resemblance to Chajá bird´s feathers.

Chajá pastry has its own FB Fan page, I think I will try to make it someday.

I have to like that FB page!!!! It really tasted fantastic. And it's SO easy to make. You just buy everything, like buy the sponge cake already made and buy meringue. You have to whip the cream though. But then you just layer it. My friend made it in a bowl, so much easier then building a cake, since you don't have to balance it or worry about how it looks.

Mixed greens, roasted red peppers, cucumber and Boars Head sliced chicken. Served with a creamy vinaigrette.. Super good.
