Haha! Vandeleur might be the only other person on here who would use the word 'tabs' - it is what they call smokes in the North East of England, and particularly in Newcastle.
My circle of pals used to call them tabs too but that was purely due to Viz.

I got the book one Christmas and hid it away in case the kids found it , it was hilarious but a bit near the knuckle.

I think MacDonalds - the fast food MacDonalds - had a UK TV advertising campaign in the 90s, maybe early 2000s, that was heavily influenced by Viz Top Tips ... and a quick search on youtube confirms I have a good memory!
