Here it has gotten beyond that. In many kindergardens (and it's spreading) they don't refer to kids as "she" or "he" but a new noun that is neutral. Also the toys that aren't neutral are being removed, and so on. It's atren of not putting kids in any category.

I've been doing that for years. I often refer to kids as "little shits." As in, "Merry Christmas, you little shits."
