I think it was much worse in the past and has just slowly got better as people have questioned authority be it a celebrity, priest or teacher.

No black Robin in the comics-Dick Grayson,Jason Todd,Tim Drake,Stephanie Brown,and current DC Comics Earth 2 Helena Wayne was Robin(now on Earth 1 she is The Huntress)and in old school 70's/80's history Bruce Wayne was the first Robin while learning detective skills under a famous detective Harvey Harris who gave him the name Robin due to his disguise.

Was Hancock a comic book first or just a movie? Haven't seen it but I read the premise. Sounds a bit like the Incredibles, regarding the public being pissed about all of the damage caused.

Because Superman can fly all around the world and there is only one of him, the whole time he isn't being Superman then he is allowing hundreds of people to die needlessly.

If your kid died in a Superman saveable accident which is almost any and you found out Superman was out on a date with Lois Lane or working as a reporter then you would be really pissed off. It's a plot hole.

Supes won't, but I'd bet poundnotes to crumpets that Hank Cavill was in his trailer between takes. Legend has it the British actor's tea time drove George Lucas nuts during the filming of the original Star Wars.

One thing I notice having a couple of actor friends over the years - British and Australian actors seemingly have a way easier time dropping their accents and doing American ones believably than their US counterparts... which is kind of odd. Cavill sounds believable so far...

It's because we hear American accents all the time. I have no problems with a British accent, but I have to be careful because I have a tendency to have more of a Northern accent than the acceptable BBC. Too many years of Coronation Street.
