My feelings on this issue isn't my point here, there are a hundreds pages of people that agree to no end LOL and they all believe that Sammy should get down and lick Dave's nuts for all he has done for him

Loyalty to me has to have a certain amount of maturity and respect attached with it. People should be able to be loyal without having to slam other people for having opinions that differ from their own. I've never posted at the Army much, simply because I can't stand all the hostility and childish name-calling that goes on there in general.

Then there's the whole issue of taking up issue with this site, simply because we allow people that actually do acknowledge, and in some cases like other eras of the band's history. You have threads dedicated to slamming Brett, Goo, and the links in general. For what?? Because they don't buy in to the blind theory that there was no Van Halen after Dave was gone? Whatever. It's all just immature whiny bullshit as far as I'm concerned.

Are there good people at the Army? I'm sure there are, no doubt about it. But it's all the assholes that get the attention, and to me it's no fun to have to wade through all that crap to find a few peeps that I'd enjoy talking to. Multiple aliases, pride in being offensive, blah blah blah. Not my cup of tea.

The thing that kills me is how the diehards there get the idea that dave must love the way they act - I just can't imagine him thinking a bunch of people acting like 15 yr-olds trying to prove what smack-talking tough guys they are is "cool". I've always imagined Dave being a little more classy than that.

Whatever works for people as individuals though - I've never told anybody that they had to choose between boards. If someone likes it better there, great. But you don't see linkers starting threads about how "the Army sucks elephant cocks" and that kind of stuff.

I prefrer the Roth era first and foremost, but I still managed to enjoy the music during the Hagar era, just not nearly as much. the reality is that they both were part of VH - I don't care if you have a preference, but to act like 1986-1996 never happened is just ignorant. The wholw "who was the better frontman" argument and Board vs. Board wars are just pointless to me. Enjoy what you enjoy, and have some adult fucking respect for other people.
