The Roth/Hagar tour was about money, sure, but it's not like David needed it. Christ, it's not really like Sammy needed it either.

After six years of inactivity, VAN HALEN NEEDED THE MONEY. The catalog wasn't exactly selling hotcakes, they didn't have a record label and they were living off of royalties, 80% of which was going to Alex's numerous alimony payments or straight down Ed's thirsty throat.

This tour isn't proving anything, it's not promoting anything other than a half-assed best of album that isn't selling anywhere near what was expected, it isn't about getting them back in the spotlight because the band, as a whole, has done their damnedest to either give canned interviews or avoid the spotlight entirely.

Jesus, even HAGAR HIMSELF said that "Other members of this band aren't doing this for the fans"! What more do you need???

Hagar has confirmed that this tour was just a money grab and that's all.

Alex may need some money but I really doubt Ed does. He has his name on so much shit he could never play again and live happily ever after.

I'll start this with a bit of reflection. This thread started out with arguably the best of intentions. It was sort of a retirement home for aspiring philosophasters and otherwise degenerate buttfuckers.

It was without a doubt, a spot where everyone with a fucking thesaurus and a set could either voice their approval or appear to be some sort of pot-stirring gay motherfucking charlatan. (was that redundant? fuck it.)

Over the course of some weeks, this has evolved into a goddamned AMTRAK mainline headed for Camden, SC.

Make no mistake, I took note of mouth-breathing pieces of shit supposedly locked down being catered to and joked with. Some in particular that I flamed to petticoat junction and back before the days of wine and roses.

Lately, there's been a war between opposing factions....steadfast in beliefs and all the rough stuff involved.

That's fine, let the best faction win.
