Not so sure this was a good move. Spotify is more of a music "service" and they put it together in a really random way, organizing their music channels by what sort of "mood" you're in. How the Hell does that translate into a "talk show" format, where the host lets the guest go on for as long as they want, up to 4 hours on occasion?

Also the YouTube presence gave Rogan a whole new audience. I don't think Spotify does video. Unless they're going to change that policy, just to get Rogan? Though I can't blame Joe for wanting to get away from the idiotic games Google/YouTube plays with "demonetizing" content, based on whatever random objections some anonymous trolls might have to his guest list.

Sirius wasn't doing video. They are now.

Google/YouTube told Joe to bend over and suck it and Joe said fuck you! That’s what it is. It’s not about maximizing profits, it’s about not being under the thumb of the big conglomerate. People love that shit. Who knows. Maybe Spotify will start hosting videos but I think the content of the podcast is what matters more than seeing people smoking blunts and drinking whiskey.

I haven't checked it yet but I heard Rogan has jumped onboard with the nonsensical Obamagate conspiracy theory. If so then he has just lost all the credibility he had built up over the last decade after being so publicly and spectacularly stupidly wrong about the moon landings which he came to his senses about a while back.

I really thought he had improved and that since it was so rare for conspiracy theorists to get out their bubble he should be applauded. Disappointing if this is true... That said he has been selling brain pills to stupid people for some time now which is just about the most snake oil thing anyone could do...
