The Lav III Kodiak is good kit...packs 25mm cannon at 100 Kmh/h with a infantry section in the rear.

I don't agree! Canada's underfunded military is subject to much national debate, scrutiny, and even comedy satire. I know this because I sometimes watch your TV. I am not criticizing everything nor do I mean this as a Nationalist bullshit ugly-American slap at Canadians as do some of my fellow Americans.

The personnel and some of the weapon systems of Canadian origin are top notch (U.S. commanders complemented Canadian snipers in Afghanistan after 9/11) and the U.S. Marines and Army use variants of the LAV(-25) and "Striker" APC.

But I will not backtrack on that, the ultimate victims of this is the members of your armed forces who can't even get new fucking helicopters for search and rescue!

I should of posted that a little better...

I agree that our military needs to be better funded.
I read my post and I included that part in your quote...I should of taken that part out.

What I think is crap is the stance that the military will cease to exist.
They will always do the best they can with what they have.
My point is that the equipment that has been aquired by the infantry in the last few years is excellent.
They need to get their regular army numbers up...to prevent burnout.
In former Yugoslovia the majority of Canadians are reservists.

The helicopter debacle is horrible....we need better air and sea transport...which is being worked on.

The big thing is the public is just getting used to accepting we have a killing army. Too many years of government neglect.

Many Canadians most likely don't want to know that it was a PPCLI sniper that set the word long distance kill record in Afghanistan.

So does this mean that it would be okay with you if we stopped sending you hydro-electricity, oil, natural gas and water? :D

Don't worry about it honey, he's called me the same thing I'm sure. His small mind can't comprehend bi-lingualism.

Just remember, if it wasn't for the USA, our country wouldn't have united the French and English like they did. Even now, we are joining together in our stance against US Foreign policy, and it is helping to re-unite the French and English, and re-kindle our ties.

At $21 billion in 2000, U.S.-Canada trade in energy is the largest U.S. energy trading relationship in the world. The primary components of U.S. energy trade with Canada are oil, natural gas, and electricity. Canada is the United States' largest oil supplier and the fifth-largest energy producing country in the world. Canada provides about 16% of U.S. oil imports and 14% of total U.S. consumption of natural gas. The United States and Canada's national electricity grids are linked and both countries share hydropower facilities on the Western borders.

And we'd have a large, undefended northern border! Isn't one huge, porous, undefended border enough?

                                Stolen from same site....

The U.S. is Canada's largest foreign investor; at the end of 1999, the stock of U.S. direct investment was estimated at $116.7 billion, or about 72% of total foreign direct investment in Canada. U.S. investment is primarily in Canada's mining and smelting industries, petroleum, chemicals, the manufacture of machinery and transportation equipment, and finance.

Canada is the third-largest foreign investor in the United States. At the end of 1999, the stock of Canadian direct investment in the United States was estimated at $90.4 billion. Canadian investment in the United States--which includes investment from Canadian holding companies in the Netherlands--is concentrated in manufacturing, wholesale trade, real estate, petroleum, finance, and insurance and other services.

Big Train....is foreign investment what you refer to as foreign aid or am I guessing wrong?
