I was shocked to learn that it was a full 2 months after 9-11 before any troops, even special forces, arrived in Afghanistan.

No wonder he got away.

In any case Osama is just a convenient bogeyman. He's shit and been raised way above his importance.

Catching him wouldn't make much difference at this point except for the poiticians.

I think most Americans simply don't care what other countries think about their foreign policy, or how they are viewed as US citizens. The reason for that is they know who the rest of the world comes to when they need help...and then, the very people who have been cursing your country like a dog are kissing your ass.
