I happen to believe in the concept of the U.N. and if they are not able to do what thy were created to do, what is the point?
There have been sanctions on Iraq that were doing no good because some of our supposed allie's were assisting Saddam in by-passing the resolutions set in place to do one thing, profit from the {Oil for Food Program} that was supposed to feed the Iraqi people.

The program did not work the way it was supposed to work because of greed.
You may think it was OK for Saddam to do what he was doing, but i don't agree with that and he had to be held accountable for the fraud, just as our supposed allie's should be held accountable for their part in the deception.
Saddam got richer while Iraqi's continued to suffer, is that right? do you not care about people who by no fault of their own are subjected to that kind of existance?

I made clear that i don't think George Bush went about any of this the way he should have, but the end result so far is they are free.
If only 1000 Iraqi's thumbed their noses at death and torture by insurgents to cast a vote in a free election i would know that being in Iraq was wrong, but over 8 million turned out to vote, that says something to me, and it says it loud and clear.

No matter the political reasons given for this war, the people of Iraq made it clear to the entire world that they are ready to step up and be a productive member of the world economy.
They deserve a chance, guy, and as far as im concerned they earned it on their own by trekking to a polling place given the odds against them to cast a vote for a free government.

So what if they don't fall in line with what the U.S. politicians want them to be, they are now free to guide their own destiny.
