Very strange timing.
Skipping over the little fact that your government stores and develops biological weapons which could destroy us all, how many people would have had access to that Anthrax? How fucking difficult would it be to catch them especially since they were sending them out regularly at the time? What about DNA evidence on the packages?

This isn't exactly Columbo levels of genius police work required. I thought the war against terror was the big priority with billions being spent on it yet the single post 9-11 terrorist attack appears to lead back to the government and is unresolved.

Something stinks. No wonder we end up with all the conspiracy theories.

    Cheers!

Not to mention the 1000s permanently disfigured and disabled.

'Fortunately' we never have to see them on TV...

The investigation centered on one man. Reportedly they don't have enough evidence to bring him in.

          FBI Still Watching Hatfill

          WASHINGTON, May 8, 2003

Dr. Steven Hatfill has repeatedly denied any involvement in the anthrax incidents and has accused the FBI of harassment affecting both his professional and personal life. (AP)

“We just can't hurry the science, nor would we want to. And we're making sure whatever the results are, that it's admissible."
Van Harp, agent in charge of anthrax investigation

(CBS) Publicly, not much at all has happened in the FBI's anthrax investigation since the search last winter of a small pond in upper Maryland. Divers went to the bottom but came up empty handed. Privately, however, agents say it would only have been icing on the cake because they believe they already have their man, even if they never get his indictment, reports CBS News Correspondent Jim Stewart.

Bio-weapons researcher Dr. Steven Hatfill, sources confirm, remains the FBI's number one suspect in the attacks, even though round-the-clock surveillance and extensive searches have failed to develop more than what even Justice Department prosecutors describe as a "highly circumstantial" case.

"I am not the anthrax killer," said Hatfill, denying the accusations.

And now one possible outcome, sources suggest, is that the government might take the unusual step of bringing charges against Hatfill unrelated to the anthrax attacks at all, if they become convinced that's the only way to prevent future incidents.

Not unlike, for example, the income tax evasion charges finally brought against Al Capone, when evidence of racketeering proved elusive.

Hatfill and his attorneys are aware of this possibility. They say they have always offered their full cooperation to the FBI, but declined to comment.

Van Harp is the senior FBI official in charge of the case. He's retiring this week and he also declined to talk specifics.

“I think we've made progress,” said Harp of the case against Hatfill. “It's frustrating that it took so long. I think everyone involved in the investigation is frustrated over it.”

Much of that frustration, investigators admit, has been the sheer volume of the science involved in not only identifying the strain of anthrax used, but then reverse engineering it and breaking down its DNA.

“We just can't hurry the science, nor would we want to. And we're making sure whatever the results are, that it's admissible," said Harp.

Admissible in the event, that is, that anyone is ever actually charged with the crimes.

Personally, I think he did it. But he's smart and covered his tracks very well.

Hatfill's probably a patsy. The BCE always has one ready.

Why did he do it and why at that particular time?

A sleeping CIA agent used to crank up the terror threat to get the Patriot Act through congress?

                  Surely not...

I don't really know why he did it. But he had oppurtunity and the expertise. I think he was disgruntled for some reason.

I mean, why did TED KASCZYNSKI send pipe bombs through the mail? Who the fuck knows? but I don't think it had much to do with THE SKULL & BONES or THE NEW WORLD ORDER. Not everything happens for a neat, rational, explainable reason.

I think the TWIN TOWERs and PENTAGON attacks provided enough hysteria for that.

Jeez, where is Mark Felt when you need him? Ford would be a great Deep Throat, but I hear there is a line.....j/k my tin foil hat wearing friend.

To be the eternal skeptic that I am, you may be right you may be wrong. Perhaps we should get more people to come forth with more than a memo.....Ill give it to you when further proof comes along.

What a coincidence that this memo comes to light right after Bush rebuked Tony Blair's request for 3 billion in aid for africa, and Bush offered instead approximately 700 million that had already been ear-marked.

Makes you think Blair may have been a mite bit disappointed, huh? Makes you think that one hand washes the other. Bet Bush is wondering if giving a little more may not have been such a good idea, not necessarily for the needy Africans, but for his own public image.

It's all politics. And it's alllll business.
