      I guess it depends on how seriously America takes democracy in the middle east. One candidate wants to see it through, one apparently wants to cut and run.

      So, what did you think of the Marshall plan?

        The policy is rather selective. US forces are quite happy to use bases in Uzbekistan and consider the country an ally in the War On Terrorism. Meanwhile the head of that country leads a particularly brutal regime that makes some Iraqi practices seem almost humane.
