eh...allen's up in 2006. but there has definitely been talk of mark warner going for the presidential 2008.

personally, i don't think a 1 term governor has much of a chance at winning the presidency. however good your 4 years of experience may have been, it's still just 4 years.

nonetheless, if i had to bet money on it, i'd bet warner makes a run at the presidency (probably realistically hoping to pull a VP offer.)

As far as the original question goes, rumor out here in NY is that Gov Pataki is going to try to run. He has already announced he won't run for Gov next year (the real reason for this is because he'd get his ass handed to him by the probable Dem candidate AG Elliot Spitzer who is very familiar to those that follow corporate crimes)
