It's very strange Trump pushing how foreign countries view the US under Biden.

Most of the world especially her allies was appalled with Trump.

Cheeto is telling one lie after another. Unfortunately Biden seems like he's barely conscious and not refuting the bullshit at all. And the CNN moderators are useless. Not counteracting the lies or even making Cheeto answer a fucking question.

This would be very funny if it didn't matter.

Trump makes states crazy lies which makes Biden stand there astonished with his mouth open making him look older and confused.

I'm calling it now. Biden's off the ticket by the end of the convention if not before. I don't know who's replacing him, but it damned well better not be Hillary.

                And here we go......

It’s time: The Democrats must replace Joe Biden with California Gov. Gavin Newsom
Opinion Bonnie Cash — Read time: 3 minutes

After Thursday night’s debate performance, one thing is crystal clear: The national Democratic Party must immediately announce they will seek to replace President Joe Biden as the presumptive candidate. We can do better than this. There are still nearly two months before the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, scheduled for late August. Thursday’s debate made it clear that Biden must be replaced as the candidate with someone — anyone. Even California Gov. Gavin Newsom. It could be a Hail Mary play for the ages, bringing Newsom in to save the day like a handsome Hollywood leading man in a Sorkinesque script. He could rally delegates and fill them with enthusiasm. It would harken to a sense of normalcy in our country — even if it’s a rich, white, cis sense of normalcy.

It’s clear the Republican Party is determined to ride its orange horse all the way to The White House, but he remains a threat to democracy today just the same as he was eight years ago. But for the Democrats, only a fresh injection of visible vitality and something more than a minimally-acceptable level of intelligence will save Americans from a second Trump administration, and prominent Democrats and donors must now loudly begin the calls. We have to have someone to rally around, and Newsom is the only person with enough name recognition to have a chance in such a moment. And believe me, I gain no pleasure from complimenting the California governor. I find him unresponsive to good advice and too reactionary to criticism. But Newsom at least projects an air of competence, unlike the old man and the con man debating each other Thursday night. A Newsom administration would be no worse than Bill Clinton’s, I think. But for all his faults, Newsom is still far preferable to what we endured on CNN Thursday evening, and the looming vision of what we might endure for the next four years. The debate was painful to watch: Both presidents — the current and the former — were caricatures of their worst criticisms and stereotypes. Biden grasped the podium for dear life and seemed unable to focus. Meanwhile, the first words out of Trump’s wet mouth were a rambling lie about how well the economy did under his administration. Nothing got better from there. At one point they even argued about their golf handicaps.

On reproductive rights, one of the biggest issues for Americans this year, both presumptive candidates clearly had no idea what to say. And 51% of the population got no comfort from this debate, and will continue to live in fear for their lives as they have been for the past two years. Trump insisted that Biden and the Democrats were willing to “rip a baby out of the womb” at nine months “and beyond” to kill it, demonstrating a serious lack of knowledge about how birth or abortion — or even just the female anatomy — works. (No such thing happened or has ever happened, by the way.) Biden, for his part, clearly only remembered the keywords on the issue and appeared disoriented. If I didn’t have to watch this debate for my job, I would have turned it off after the first five minutes in disgust. But for anyone who managed to keep it on, this debate did make the truth painfully clear: Biden is not the right candidate to run in November. He must step aside and clear the path to another candidate. There is simply no other option — and our time is almost up.

For what it's worth here are the fact checks.

Moderators for CNN’s debate took a hands-off approach, letting lies and half-truths remain unchallenged. Here are the facts on some of the false claims

The problem is that people would much rather have a confident liar than a stuttering guy trying to remember facts. Some of the lying from Trump reached whole new levels - democracy can't work like this unless your electorate is going to spend hours reading up on stuff and 99% of voters won't/can't.

                    Abortion

The claim: Trump says Democrats support abortion until birth and that “everybody” wanted to overturn Roe v Wade.

The facts: Later abortions are a common line of attack among Republicans – but it’s based on a myth. Less than 1% of abortions in the US are performed at or past 21 weeks, largely because of fetal abnormalities or lack of access to care earlier in pregnancy.

And Roe remained popular throughout the half-century it was in effect. Some anti-abortion activists have also argued that the federal government can use an existing law to implement a federal ban on abortion. The US supreme court has also dealt with two abortion cases so far this year – evidence that the issue is far from settled at the national level. The environment

The claim: Trump had “the best environmental numbers ever”.

The facts: It’s not clear what “environmental numbers” Trump is referring to, making it impossible to factcheck. But the Guardian has compiled 75 ways Trump made the country dirtier and the climate warmer. Prescription drug reform

The claim: Biden oversold his prescription drug reforms.

The facts: Biden said seniors’ out-of-pocket costs were capped at $200, but it’s $2,000. The cap on insulin costs out of pocket are $35 a month, more than the $15 Biden claimed. The border

The claim: Trump’s border was the most secure in history.

The facts: Trump said that when he left the presidency, the US had the most secure border in history, and later said “hardly” anyone was coming through.

While migrant apprehensions have surged under Biden, the increases began in 2020, during Trump’s presidency. The reasons people were seeking to migrate include economic stress caused by the pandemic and natural disasters, long-running issues, including violence and political instability. skip past newsletter promotion Sign up to The Stakes — US Election Edition

                    The economy

The claim: Biden said the economy had “collapsed” and there were no jobs when Trump left office.

The facts: That’s a bit misleading – employment rates began to tick up pretty quickly after an initial dip at the beginning of the pandemic, before Biden took office. January 6

The claim: Trump deflected a question about the January 6 insurrection, blaming Nancy Pelosi for turning down a chance to deploy the national guard.

The facts: This is false. There is no evidence Pelosi got an offer to deploy national guard troops, and even if she did, she wouldn’t have the power to turn it down. The president, defense secretary and army secretary have command of the Washington DC national guard. Tax cuts

The claim: Trump claimed his tax cuts were the largest in history and that his administration had the greatest economy in history.

The facts: His tax cut was the fourth-largest since 1940, according to PolitiFact. According to the non-profit Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget’s recent report, Trump created about twice as much debt ($8.4tn) as Biden ($4.3tn). Before the pandemic hit, economic growth during his presidency averaged at about 2.7% – that’s good but not as good as the 4% average growth during Bill Clinton’s administration. Unemployment before the pandemic was as low as 3.5% – again, not as low as during Clinton’s presidency. ‘Superpredators’

The claim: Trump said that Biden called Black Americans “superpredators”.

The facts: The superpredator theory in the 1990s suggested that a growing number of unusually violent young people, especially Black boys, posed a threat to the country. The theory capitalized on racialized fear and was used to encourage policies that led to the disproportionate incarceration of Black youth. There is no evidence Biden used the phrase or ascribed to the theory behind it.

However, Biden’s endorsement of the 1994 crime bill has justifiably come under scrutiny. Biden has defended the bill, and said that aspects of it were wrongly implemented.

I don't see Newsom as a winning option, with California's issues in the news daily. The big money PAC's will tear him apart in their commercials.

The thing about fact checks is that when it comes to January 6th you will never get to the bottom of the National guard issue. Interesting article here:

As an outsider, I thought the moderators did a good job of letting these guys hang themselves.
                            But it was pretty boring.
I saw Biden forgetting memorized lines and Trump talking off the top of his head as usual and making speeches.
Even when Trump is somewhat accurate, he doesn't elaborate and misses opportunities.
He says he funded African American colleges at one point in one of his stream of consciousness rambling type answers.
What he should have said was , he gave then funding for 10 years as opposed to one year at a time under Obama.
Biden didn't perform as badly as some are making out, but it was the decline relative to four years ago that is shocking.
