That no longer happens. If you remember the reason given for Republican senators not impeaching Trump was that it should be dealt with in the courts - a circular con relying on peoples short term memory.

I was in high school when all that played out with Nixon. Back then there's seemed to be a higher sense of honor or perceived integrity... even though, just as much lying and shady shit went on behind the scenes as it does today. I don't believe Nixon would get a pass today for the same crap under the recent SCOTUS ruling. It didn't fall under the "official" acts element.

Trump borrowed a ton of money to give corporations tax cuts. You have to pay the interest on that debt now and if he does it again it will put up inflation again.

The Democrats tried to bring in strict border controls but putting party over country the Republicans blocked that.

Worst thing about that was that it was a very right wing border plan. Under ordinary circumstances every Republican in Congress would have voted for it. Cheeto literally called them up and told them not to support it because he wanted to "make Biden look bad" on immigration issues. And of course, FAUX Noize helped "catapult the propaganda" as usual.....
