I find the reactions most entertaining to Trump floating the idea of the US taking over Gaza, running everyone out and rebuilding it into a resort... the freaking out is comical.

So many so quick to jump to the wrong conclusions... like the US sending massive troops and entering into another endless war. There's no plans or troop movements heading to the Middleeast... we're currently deploying troops in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California. Expect deployments to the northern US boarder soon too. The immigration mess is being addressed... rapidly. America first...

Then there's the fate of the Palestinians and/or the locals in Gaza. The destruction there is widespread and will need to be cleaned up and rebuilt at some point. From a humanitarian perspective where are those 1-2 million folks going to live during the years that the cleanup will be taking place? Even though their ancestral roots stem from northern Egypt and Jordan... neither of those countries want the people from Gaza nor are they all that interested in helping those folks out. Then who??? The answer is neither Israel nor the US.

My opinion is Trump threw out an extreme alternate paradigm idea with a focus on the long term, peaceful future of those people and that land. Two weeks ago no one in the world was thinking about how is that region going to be cleaned up and and make it livable for the people who call it home. The solution lies in the Arab world... somewhat amazing the idea came from some unconventional crazy thinking by a guy in the US...

I was watching coverage of this on I24 Israeli news channel and one security analyst gave pretty much the same take but noted the Arab solution is most viable with long term potential for peace in the region.
