"On Tuesday, Punchbowl News reported that Amazon plans to display how much of a given item’s
cost stems from tariffs, a stark counter to the government’s consistent argument that its tariff policies
are not passing costs onto consumers."

Next, I'd like your overall opinion of some foreign countries. First, is your overall opinion of [RANDOM ORDER]very favorable, mostly favorable, mostly unfavorable, or very unfavorable? How about -- [INSERT NEXT ITEM]?
I think the two key takeaways from this are
a) Nothing much has changed. Americans still like their Western allies and it doesn't matter if it's because the Russians have Kompromat on Trump or he just instinctively loves a murdering dictator he's not taking the US public opinion with him. They still much prefer the Ukraine to Russia never mind Canada, the UK and Mexico.
b) Surprisingly same goes for Israel - horrific Hamas attacks and the relentless bombing of civilians in Gaza seems to have cancelled each other out??

A real trade deal takes years to negotiate not weeks. Trump has 60 days to find a way out of a total mess or he has a crisis. This will hang over any negotiations as well as the fact the US owes an insane amount of money and needs to renew trillions of debt shortly. Canada has just elected an expert in this shit and they have enough US bonds that if they sold them it could get uncomfortable, China 100 times that.
The tariff thing is dumb as fuck it's all going to be a face saving exercise now as Trump backs down while distracting the media and public with more stories like Alcatraz or whatever.
It's all a sideshow anyway. The Trump presidency is all about making billions for the Trump family through corruption.
I think it's a political thing more than a real trade deal both leaders wanted to announce some good news.
The UK is still in a worse trade position with the US than it was under Biden our posh cars have gone down from 25% to 10% but it's still worse than before,.
Also only found out about something called meat glue that is allowed in the US whereby you allow your suppliers to glue steaks together from different animals into one bigger one? WTF?
I'm sorry but 20 or 30 years ago US meat was something but nowadays your standards seem dodgy compared to Europe.
We'll see what happens but chances are most if not all the Trump tariffs will be gone in a couple of months and all that will have changed is the US credit rating will be worse, investment will be down, you will get a completely unnecessary recession in the US, all her allies will distrust her after being screwed for no reason, and China will have gained some new alliances especially the the far east.
