That is nonsense...
Dude, I used food stamps and let me tell you, it was a pretty low feeling for me, but I had kids that needed to eat and a wife who is disabled.
Food stamps are fine if you need them...
That still didn't make it any easier to deal with the looks and comments from those behind me in the line who had cash.
I was in a way, ashamed to use it but like I said, I had no choice.
You should be proud for using and not abusing the system...
It did help me mentally gear up an stop feeling sorry for myself so I could get out and find a way to provide a better life for me and my family, and I did just that, but I have two degrees and it did help.
The american way. HARD WORK!
If the minimun wage was at least equal to what it costs to pay the rent, buy groceries, pay the electric and phone bills, i honestly believe that more people would take pride in their own lives and change their situation.
No.. there would be no reason to better yourself...
But in the same breath, if they can do no better by working, what is the motivation to try and do better?
Exactly...
It is a system designed to keep a person down and I do believe that increasing the wage would go a long way in getting people to stand on their own two feet.
The system is one of opportunity. Anyone who wants to stand on their own two feet can...
