I don't know why Nancy Reagan continues to support a party that shit all over her husband (whom they claim as Messiah) by denying stem cell research that could have helped old Jellybean brain, two of my grandparents, Christopher Reeve and millions of others.

She was a recent widow. At that stage, you're not thinking political affiliation. Alzheimer's is a stressful condition for those who take care of the afflicted. I'm sure this wasn't a "screw over the Democratic Party" moment and more of a "let him rest in peace" moment. Or, maybe even moreso a "let Nancy rest in peace" moment. She had to share his passing and the mourning with the public. There's no reason for either party to dig him up from his grave for personal political gain.

Fact is though, that every major Repuke candidate still tries to imply Reagan's endorsement, up to and including McCain in the most recent campaign.

I know Ron Reagan Jr. is sickened by the political exploitation of his dead father, and the implications made by McCain and others that old Ronnie would have endorsed the neocon agenda, which was far to the right of his version of "conservatism" (which was itself considered the far right scary edge in its time)
