    Nick, in no way am I discounting it at all. Any form of torture is bad. Whether physical or psychological. Hence the term "torture".

      It is torture, since it elicits a physiological reaction and does cause physical pain. It's a little cleaner than some foreign methods and the rack, but the subject still is asphyxiated and the intentions are the same.

      And if some people are dying with the use of these techniques, then it's best to have a policy not to use them. Especially since innocent people are known to have been abducted by the CIA and exposed to these methods.
