BTW Maryland and Kentucky were considered the border states, though their symapathies were with the South. Virginia also contributed a great percentage of the Southern Army and also it's leadership in the field. Robert E. Lee is undoubtedly one of the finest Generals to ever grace a battlefield...same can be said for Thomas J. (Stonewall) Jackson.

History shows that Governors are more likely to occupy the Oval Office than any other candidate. He was also a moderate Democrate....the type of candidate the Dems need in '08.
