You are the only person here who thinks that the only people that are allowed to have an opinion are those who served. Anytime someone says anything you are pounding your chest telling everyone you are military and a vet and that if you want to discuss something enlist. Well if you served thank you for your service and I respect that. Did he respect his oath as an officer?
Did he respect the honor of his medals when he threw them in the trash?

Its a volunteer Armed Forces. I'd prefer to keep it that way too. Those that are signing up know exactly what they're in for. Just like they did in every other war when they lined up at recruiter stations.

YES! He was protesting a War that was immoral and killing America's best and brightest. Was the Pentagon and the White House "respecting" the troops by perpetrating and continuing a War that they'd admitted knowing they could not win because our "allies" there were corrupt and unpopular whores unable to form any sort of long term society or gov't (The Pentagon Papers). Yet they just callously continued the fighting, and dismissed the value of the lives of US troops, and those of the Vietnamese, as of lessor importance than maintaining a "face" to save.
His comments and actions portrayed by the Swiftboat moral cowards are entirely out of context, as is everything else here.
