Rumor is that Chimpy has never been Poppy's favorite son. Probably because he was too stupid to follow daddy's footsteps in the CIA, like Jeb did.

Jeb was actually supposed to be the pResident, he even signed the original PNAC charter, but they forgot to fix the 1994 election in Florida, and Jeb lost. He won in 1998, but nobody thought a 2 year governor would get the Repuke nomination, Bush or not, so they switched to Plan B, which was Chimpy.

Georgie was always a Mama's Boy. One wonders what his grandfather, Aleister Crowley, would have thought of him.

it would have a higher approval rating and might actually leave the GOP with a shot at the white house in 2008...

        With the War in Iraq?

        Doubtful...

While I do not think it is as so simple as 'they chosen to let Osama escape,' there are whisperings that French sp-ops could have killed Bin Laden, or that the USN SEALs were in position to ambush him, but both missions were scrubbed at behest of the Pentagon or the Bush Admin...

What's the key (idiotic and contrary to all of the facts) continued justification for the Iraq War? The answer is by tying it to some nebulous blanket statements regarding "al Qaida, terrorism blah blah blah..."

It's a little harder to make "al Qaida of Iraq" (whatever that actually means since on about 5% of them are non-Iraqis and no Iraqis attacked us on 9/11) if Bin Laden is dead, even if there are few ties, other than in name, between Bin Laden's "al Qaida" and "AQI"...

And, the whole GOP theory of victory is largely based on fear of the "other."

How could they call John Kerry essentially a "liberal pussy-wimp" during elections if there's no more threat to defend against?

Why is it that so many of us in the world knew this already, without having to do much research? So many Americans don't know anything about other areas of the world, except for what the media is allowed to tell them.

This comes to no surprise for many of us, and it's what many of us said would happen.

Just look at how many Americans think we still live in igloos up here in Canada. Education is the key! That American arrogance of "I'm American, I don't give a shit, nor do I need to be educated", about anyone else has to stop, or else this kind of shit will just keep on happneing.

It's one thing for a "typical American" to be ignorant of such matters. But how does that happen to someone who is the son of a former president, vice president, ambassador, and career CIA operative?

If that alone doesn't prove Chimpy's complete stupidity, I don't know what else would. Technically, he should have had access to more knowledge of international relations than most other candidates coming in to office.

Instead, he displays the same level of ignorance as RedBalls. Which is probably why RedBalls likes him so much.

But then again, "access" doesn't mean "interest."

I know the type, he 'already knows everything.'
