          Reagan was not only a Democrat, he was even the president of his actors union for a while.

          He pussied out and joined the Republican party during the McCarthyism era because he was afraid of being branded a "communist" like half of Hollywood was accused of being at the time.

          They even went after Lucille Ball, for fucks sake, and she was married to a right wing Cuban!


          The ironic thing about that Reagan speech is that, if you adjust the years and the dollar amounts for today's reality, he could have been making the same speech about the Republican congress in 2006.

          The very party that worships him as some sort of God....

              I remember when this issue came out. The right wingers couldn't decide whether it was worse that their president's daughter had posed naked, or that she did so with a black man holding her tits!!

              Jesse Helms and Strom Thurmond had to call in the medics with the jumper cables, if I remember correctly.....
