Those Bear Bombers are loud as hell also. Crews who have flown in it have gone deaf later in their military career. And it can even be detected by submarines underwater. The B-1, Harrier, Tomcat, Prowler and even the Hornet have nothing on the Bear as far as decibles are concerned. Although I've never been near a bear bomber.

Tell me about it. The Russians also made a civilian airliner out of same Tulolev design that the Bear bomber is based on. I flew on one going to Irkusk, Russia in 1998. LOUD! I crumpled up some credit card reciepts and stuffed them in my ears. Those planes move almost as fast as a jet though. Four huge counter rotating props. I was seated where I could see both engines on the left side and I just watched those big props in facination.
