ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — Alaska state troopers have arrested the mother of Bristol Palin's boyfriend on drug charges.

Sherry L. Johnston was arrested Thursday after troopers served a search warrant on a Wasilla home. The 42-year-old Johnston has been charged with six felony drug counts.

Troopers did not identify the drug involved in a brief mention on the agency's Web site.

Johnston is the mother of 18-year-old Levi Johnston. Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, the GOP nominee for vice president, announced in September that her 18-year-old daughter, Bristol, was pregnant and Johnston was the father.

Sherry Johnston was released from jail in Palmer on $5,000 bail.

God, I was hoping Palin's 15 mins of fame were over........what's the old saying? There's no bad press...........I hope she is the future of the Repukes........it means there won't be any chance of them making an attempt of the White House in 2012........the more morons they have like her the better it is for this country........she'd never stand a chance running for President......2 years of having to talk to the press......she couldn't even make it 2 days without coming across as the dumb fuck she is........So I say, Go Palin and the future looks bright, if that's the best the Repukes have.

Totally agree with your points and they are valid but.......I think if she ran a 2 year campaign, like Obama had to, she wouldn't make it.....she'd come across just like the moron she is.....in a long campaign. The moral majority and the bible belt are a huge voting block and that was where Rove was smart in playing the religious angle of Dubya.......So much depends on the next 2 years.....if we pull out of the recession and people are working, there's no way the Repukes will get back in power.........if the next 2 years are exactly like it is now.......Repukes will win the mid-terms and strangle any good legislation........to set themselves up for the Presidential election of 2012.
