Gregory, ye should remember that the Scriptures tell you to pray for thy leaders, especially those who the majority of thy country hath chosen in these troubled times.

I can promise you that thy new President talks to Me on a regular basis. Of course I must keep those conversations confidential, just as I would any other prayer. But knoweth this, he careth very deeply for thy country. Which is more than I can sayeth for some who hath been in that office in recent years.

Forgiveness is part of My job description, so consider that done, My son.

But ye should not be so judgmental of thy new President, for he hath been up front with his addiction, and hath not tried to conceal it.

Don't take it the wrong way...my rant wasn't in your direction, trust me.

It was directed towards those who want to use it as a pedestal from which to attack him in the absence of anything else...you don't seem to be one of those, but others are.

Good I'm glad he is. Maybe he will help out with stopping the fascist laws than ban smoking everygoddamnwhere it pisses me off to no end.

Just because some bullshit studies claim that second hand smoke is the most dangerous thing on earth, when you can't prove that it does shit to someone.

                Where are the smokers rights.

I think he WAS a smoker and has turned complete gym-rat --spending 45-minutes a day working out, at least...

Previous presidents cannot match Barack Obama's appetite for working on his impressive fitness

Nowadays smoking outside isn't even allowed in cities. And really if someone has such a great allergy to smoke that it can affect them from across a restaurant they probably shouldnt go outside.

Before we had smoking bans in this state, there were places I couldn't even stand to go into because of allergies. Some of them literally had a 5 ft high partition supposedly separating the cancer and non-cancer sections. The only difference was half the tables didn't have ashtrays. The stench was the same either way. Other places had their smoking sections completely walled off, but the HVAC ducts connected it to the other sections, so it was still polluted air.

Then there's the employee safety issue. Anybody who's ever worked in a food service job knows that they ain't gonna let you only work the places with clean air. Minumum wage employees with no health care are the last people who need forced daily exposure to carcinogens.

As far as outdoor smoking areas, as long as they're a reasonable distance from doors and HVAC intake vents, I don't have a problem with that.

See but you had the choice to go to a place that didn't have smoking sections. The local family restaurant im fine with them saying no smoking, where it gets idiotic, though, is when the government steps in and tells a bar owner, or club owner, that he/she can't have smoking in the building they pay for and pay taxes on.

Also recently Dallas passed a no smoking anywhere type thing, where if you are just walked around downtown and smoking it's a ticket, which is also bullshit.

That's good of you Mr Himmler.

If people are so weak they have to invent these 'allergies' they should stay out of bars and go to seniors knitting clubs or just sit at home in an oxygen tent.

As for employees - get a job you like. The market will provide anti smoking bars if that's what people want.

Most of the whining bastards are ex smoker hypocrites who should fuck off.

Please... if I was going to "invent" an allergy, I'd be much more creative. Like actually breaking out in hives at the first note of a Van Hagar song, or something like that.
