        That sucks!

I'm still fortunate that we have a paper here locally...Been a subscriber forever. But--as circulation declines, Ad revenues do too....As do classifieds placements that use to generate bucks. Not a good combo for long-term success.

First job I ever had was delivering papers as a teenager....The end of an era.

I blame Algore and his inconvenient truth. Fewer papers mean fewer senseless murder of trees. Thats a good thing, isn't it?

Do you guys get local newspapers ?
Not talking state or city but at your
county or shire level ? Just curious...
I used to read the Sunday paper here,
even re-read it during the week on the crapper
to make sure I didnt miss anything..
But now with all the news websites, I stopped.
My father (who doesnt use the net to read news)
brings up news stories all the time when we talk
and Im always up to date.
Sadly like coopers (my great grandfather was
              a cooper) newspapers will disappear.
We will probably be around to see it too...

I bought a cheap wireless nettop for the crapper,
as I knew you would all be concerned about that !!
BABY PANA 2 IS Coming !! All across the land, let the love and beer flow !
              Love ya Mary Frances!

We recycle here...and forests can be managed...

You could also argue that Al's interweb in itself uses a good deal of power from coal-fired plants increasing pollution and the strain on the grid...
