As far as the health care reform is concerned, I'd think the Republicans would be overjoyed with it. I mean, let's face brass tax here, it's their constant, incessent, endless complaining about it that's left it the hollow shell it is, right?

All the Republican complaining has left it what it is due to the fact that we've got too many middle of the road Democrats unwilling to put their foot down and push it through as it SHOULD be, worrying too much about trying to keep their ratings good on both sides of the spectrum.

Too many Democrats worrying about a fillibuster...

Too many Democrats worrying about re-election...

Too many Democrats worrying about the noisy minority of Republicans...

Oh, well, sure, we can sacrifice this 'n' that and the other to make you guys happy! Sure, we'll make EVERYBODY happy!

    Well, there ya go.

With the stock market doing so well over the last few months, Obama will be able to use that as a positive in his upcoming state of the union speech.

Obama's Approval Rating Lowest Yet, Congress' Declines

Slightly more disapprove than approve of Obama
            by Jeffrey M. Jones

PRINCETON, NJ -- President Barack Obama's job approval is the worst of his presidency to date, with 46% of Americans approving and 48% disapproving of the job he is doing as president in the latest Gallup Daily three-day average.

Obama's approval rating has hovered around 50% since November, but in the last two days has declined [ ed. gee, I wonder why that is..?] to the point that slightly more Americans now disapprove than approve of his performance in office.

The new low ratings come during a week in which the White House and Democratic congressional leaders are working to convince wavering House Democrats to support healthcare reform, which they hope to pass using a series of parliamentary maneuvers in the House of Representatives and Senate. [ ie cheat]

Americans hold Congress in far less esteem than they do the president -- 16% approve and 80% disapprove of the job Congress is doing, according to the latest update from a March 4-7 Gallup poll. That is just two points off the record-low 14% Gallup measured in July 2008.

Obama's Approval Rating Hits New Low
                Posted by Tucker Reals

Last week, President Obama signed historic health care reform legislation into law -- but his legislative success doesn't seem to have helped his image with the American public.

The latest CBS News Poll, conducted between March 29 and April 1, found Americans unhappier than ever with Mr. Obama's handling of health care - and still worried about the state of the economy.

President Obama's overall job approval rating has fallen to an all-time low of 44 percent, down five points from late March, just before the health bill's passage in the House of Representatives. It's down 24 points since his all-time high last April. Forty-one percent of those polled said they disapproved of the president's performance.

When it comes to health care, the President's approval rating is even lower -- and is also a new all-time low. Only 34 percent approved, while 55 percent said they disapproved.

Americans are still worried about the economy, with 84 percent telling CBS they thought it was still in bad condition. However, even that high number represents an improvement: nine in ten thought the economy was bad during the last half of 2008 and at the beginning of 2009, when Mr. Obama assumed the Presidency.

One Week Later, 54% Favor Repeal of Health Care Bill

One week after the House of Representatives passed the health care plan proposed by President Obama and congressional Democrats, 54% of the nation's likely voters still favor repealing the new law. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey shows that 42% oppose repeal.

The fact you two care enough to comment on why/who Hale "groans" is pretty funny.
