Do you read what you rant about???????

The Obama administration on Thursday put new restrictions on searches of laptops at U.S. borders to address concerns that federal agents have been rummaging through travelers' personal information.

Between Oct. 1, 2008, and Aug. 11 of this year, Customs and Border Protection officers processed more than 221 million travelers at U.S. borders and searched about 1,000 laptops, of which 46 were "in-depth" searches, the Homeland Security Department said.

Besides that is not much searching AT ALL. And if you do not understand why laptops and electronic devices needs to be searched at such a very basic level and such a very basic point, then you are not too bright.

Besides, only the most "gotten careless and lost regard" and novice will be caught in such searches. In other words newbies and "stressed callous fucks"
To put it simply, we need to worry a lot less about how to communicate our actions and much more about what our actions communicate.

I went on maybe 6 US flights last year with a laptop and the security was the same as you get anywhere, it goes through the machine separately but that is it. 1000 searches out of 221 million isn't a lot and ok if they are intelligence led.

Which they would have to be if you think about it. Random laptop searches would quickly fuck up the millions of businessmen constantly flying into the US. If there was even a small chance that US customs would confiscate my laptop coming into the country I wouldn't bring it in which means I may not bring business to the US.

I'm less happy about the fact the US government now has my fingerprints when I have never been arrested for any crime ever anywhere in the world.

Some of you guys need to fly around overseas for a while....

Christ, I've been in some airports that have up to 10 different security checkpoints.... Manila comes to mind immediately, Tel Aviv as well...

Gee. Maybe the searches had something to do with the massive fucking drug war going on in Mexico?

I think what you cockgobblers fail to understand is that this is happening to Americans on American soil. Yes, I've been overseas, and I've been searched over and over. I don't have a problem with that when I'm a guest in another country. I should be prepared for that when I step into somebody else's customs. (And, Nick, a Mexican should be prepared for that when they enter U.S. customs. There's always a war going on somewhere in the world - not sure what that has to do with my laptop?)

            But - a U.S. citizen in a U.S. airport - the Fourth Amedment applies. Get a warrant.

              I did. Did you?

What are the new restrictions? A supervisor has to be present while you're getting fucked. They have to return your property in a WEEK. Then they contradict themselves and it's no longer the case that this can be done without a warrant...then say they can still do it with only 'probable cause.' Like one of those ex-taco bell TSA motherfuckers know what probable cause is.

You're right - 1000 out of 221 million is not that much. How would you like to be one of 1000 out of 221 million to get fucked in the ass? I don't understand why the fat, lazy motherfuckers in this country piss all over the Bill of Rights today.

"Change" would have been: cut this shit out and get a warrant. The only "change" this puppet is going to bring is the loose change hitting our faces when he runs the economy right into the ground.

Well, buttlick. I think it was 1,000 computers out of hundreds of millions of travelers, so obviously it's not everyone. Please give a number of "U.S. citizens" that have had their laptop seized...

As a person that deals in sensitive data in the private sector with little to no checks and balances on me. I am one of those 1000 and one of the 221.

That's impossible, because no warrants were required. They could make up any number at all, or deny every one of them. Starting to see the beauty of the Fourth Amendment? Oversight.

If you are, you must be a total fuckwit douchebag to be 1000 out of 221 million to "get fucked in the ass." I would say that that is "probable cause."

Most places keep an "observation" on me. I expect this when dealing in questionable material.
Both the "bad guys" and the "good guys" observe me regularly.

Well, documenting the national origin of 1000 laptops seized, less than 50 of those held long term, might not be all that difficult...
