Obama had to sit down after getting his first briefing.

One military official present at Obama's first briefing said Obama was so shocked by the horrid state of the country he had to sit down. After Obama became president elect he started to get briefed on the situation of the country so he would be better prepared to take over from Bush.

What hit Obama hard was knowing the US Dollar was at risk to collapse at any time and the government wouldn't be able to control the civil unrest that would happen because of it. Food would run out in three days and all the government officials could do was hid out somewhere or flee the country.

Obama hearing the news was so overtaken he had to sit down and realize he was now at the helm of a country so out of control he could only go with the flow. The damage has been done.

The source said probably what has kept the US dollar going is the people have been so brainwashed and dumbed down they actually believe it to be worth something.

When asked if Obama was corrupt or not the source said Obama must not be very intelligent because nobody in his right mind would want the presidency now. He said Obama is intelligent regarding debate and speaking but said Obama was known to be an excellent debater at Harvard but said he missed the boat when it came to knowing the economic situation of the country. He said in his opinion, Obama was set up to be the fall guy.

Also it was mention most the decent people in the military left because they couldn't swear allegiance to either President Clinton or Bush due to what they were doing in office. So Obama came in after much of the damage had been done.

I don't know Nitro......don't most meetings with the President/President-Elect take place sitting down.

I will agree that Obama had no idea the severity of the situation in this country until he was President-Elect. That's when the truth comes out and you get all the behind the scene details. Had he known how fucked up the country was.....he wouldn't of ran. I don't think anyone in their right mind would want to take on the cluster fuck that 8 years of Bush did. If you were young enough and Obama is....wait out the last election and make a run in 2012......let the other person fail and by 2012 the economy will be in decent shape.

Mike Malloy was saying (probably about midway through the 2008 campaign) that maybe we should all just step back and let McCain win, because the country was going to be so fucked up that no President could possibly dig it out of the hole - not just the obvious damage done by Chimp and Cheney, but the accumulative effect of 30 years of these disastrous policies. And that the whole historic implication of "the first Black President" shouldn't be wasted on what was bound to be a horrible 4 years, despite his best intentions.

Of course Malloy had to change his mind about that, once Palin became Grandpa Simpson's running mate. At that point, keeping her away from the Oval Office had to take priority.

As I've said previously, the bait and switch on health care was a major dealbreaker for me, and the cabinet appointments, especially the economic team, were a major disaster as well. And there's only two ways of interpreting all of this....

          1) Either Obama truly had the best of intentions when he got into office, but has capitulated to "certain forces" under threats to himself or his family.

          or

          2) He never meant one goddamn word of anything he said in any speech between 2002 and 2008.

I have no way of knowing which of these statements is true, but if you look at how rapidly Obama has aged in the last two years, it looks like stress to me. I'm not excusing anything here, but I don't think he's exactly doing what he wants to.

On a personal, serious level, I think that scenario is most likely spot on.

I did some work for The Department of Energy in the 1990's and one of my coworkers heard this from a friend of his in the military. I think what he meant by Obama having to sit down is the shock hit him like a ton of bricks.

One reason I relocated to a isolated area was I was told the dollar would probably collapse in 2001 and the bigger cities would be a nightmare. That didn't happen and one reason I think it hasn't is people are just too used to paper money being worth something and the Asians were still willing to buy our debt. Now it's starting to fall apart. From what I can gather the powers that be will just duck out when the situation becomes unmanagable.

I never quite bought the marshal law thing. If the corrupt government could declare marshal law and get away with it they would do so. I think the situation is melting under their feet. There's just too much money backed by nothing and people are starting to get spooked. When you see well to do people sell their big home and buy agricultural land so they can grow their own food something is up.

In a nutshell. The United States was destroyed by the Bush Administration and Obama is left with the flaming hulk. The damage is unrepairable as far as the economy goes and the government is too full of greedy shills that aren't that smart and they will go down with the ship because they are that stupid.

I remember seeing Obama on the news the day after he won the election he did have a briefing and I did remember he looked pretty shocked. The Fed is keeping the interest rates at zero because it's all they can do. I know they looked into a regional currency and even a global currency but that seems to have fallen apart.

Well my source didn't think Obama was this evil communist but probably your typical self-serving politician out to make a name for himself. Like many people he's well educated in the university sense but naive when it comes to finance and economics. The man never ran a business. He was an academic and a politician which means you manuvre for the pot of money and have no idea what makes the pot available. Many people like that in our society and they have no idea the Titanic has hit the iceberg and is sinking. They are out listening to the band thinking they will go back inside to a nice warm cabin or smoking lounge.

In my time working for a government agency one thing I was told by several sources is we don't have a government. We have governments and they basically run themselves. One of my bosses said the most shocking thing he learned when he first took his job is he didn't have the authority to fire his own staff. Lot's of compartmentalization and lot's of mid managers with no real authority and nobody really seems to know who is in charge.

Where is worked they did a lot of medical research and a lot of useful technology probably never would see the inside of a doctor's office or hospital because it would compete with the big pharmacutical companies. This is where I got my first real glimpse of that corruption.

Tell me what you think money is?
                        What makes money a noun?
Do you think gold is money?
                        If so why?
To put it simply, we need to worry a lot less about how to communicate our actions and much more about what our actions communicate.

I told you two fucking years ago you idiot, it's what a candidate HAS DONE with his life, not what bullshit he SAYS he is gonna do that tells you what type of guy he really is!

I look to the falls of great civilizations of the past for signs of where that demarcation line is for the Point of No Return meaning, how far past indebtedness.. how deeply weakened a currency, and how hot inflation can be before a correction may occur.

It is too soon by at least 150 years to predict that. Individual states' secession from the Union would occur before an outside entity could destroy us.

Maybe that's the way to do it - instill such hatred for the Federal that one by one the States drop off the roster, that they become vulnerable by themselves.

Since the Democrats are in control I'm sure they should hear these newsbits of information from you if they care to listen. And if you believe they represent your concerns...

Since I hold a degree in finance from the University of Washington I think I know what money is. Money is in various forms. It started with barter and salt was a popular form of exchange. Gold is a historic form of money. Since gold is heavy paper money was invented. Then the banks and politicians found out once confidence was had in the paper currency they could issue more currency than the commodities that backed it and this has created serious problems. Today most our money is computer code saved on a server somewhere. So modern money is really quite strange and people in the past would think we are stupid.

Money is a noun regardless of what form it is in. A fuck could be money if it was in exchange for something in a transaction. To fuck and fucking is a verb but when the action of fucking is labeled as a fuck as in a transaction it becomes a noun.
